How It All Began

Our musical journey began on a regular day at the local thrift store, The Filling Station, owned by our friends Donna and Henry. It was here that Dave first stepped in and had a life-changing encounter. Donna excitedly said, “There’s someone I want you to meet,” which led to a fortuitous introduction to Delphine. Their conversation flowed effortlessly about music, and they soon made plans to gather and jam together.

The Formation of BlueJazz

Shortly after this initial meeting, Dave had a chat with Scott, who expressed a longing to play music again. In the past, Dave and Scott had enjoyed playing together, so he mentioned Delphine. This idea sparked something wonderful. The three of them got together, played music, and the magic happened! Thus, BlueJazz was born. Our aim was simple: to create a vibrant atmosphere around Western North Carolina by learning jazz standards, blues, and soul tunes that were, above all, danceable and fun.

Evolution and Change

As we played in various local venues, our musical style naturally began to evolve. We found ourselves exploring new genres and broader influences. It was time to reflect this growth. With a nod to our roots, we decided to change our name to Delphine and The Oracles. This new name captures not only our original vision but also the journey of transformation we experienced together.

Join us as we continue to evolve musically and share our passion with all of you. We can’t wait for the next chapter!
